UNM Big Give Set a University Record in 24 Hours

(Albuquerque, NM) On February 21, 2024, the University of New Mexico celebrated its second UNM Big Give, a unified day dedicated to philanthropy across the university, benefiting a wide range of participants, including students, athletes, patients, educators, and the broader Lobo community.

This year, the 24-hour event witnessed unprecedented participation, with 2,527 alumni and supporters worldwide contributing, meeting, and exceeding the objective of 2,500 unique contributors, and establishing a new record for the highest number of individual donations in a single fundraising event at the university. UNM Big Give raised over $770,000, which was allocated to various sectors such as academics, healthcare, sports, culture, and wellness.

The UNM Big Give collaborated with UNM Athletics on their yearly Lobos Give Day, which supports student athletes. Lobos Give Day surpassed its target of $300,000, raising over $356,000 for student athlete scholarships.

"UNM's Big Give exemplifies the philanthropic spirit at UNM, demonstrating a remarkable unity among the Lobo family, resulting in unprecedented support. Coupled with Lobo Give Day, this collective effort has fortified UNM, thanks to its dedicated community. We are immensely grateful to the engagement of our UNM community across the state, country, and world," stated Jeff Todd, CEO and President of The UNM Foundation.
